Start the new year safe by checking all the smoke detectors in your house or business. If you cannot remember when the batteries were last changed we would recommend replacing them.
Most manufactures want you to test your smoke detectors monthly and they recommend replacing the batteries every year but always follow the manufacturer's instructions of your particular brand.
