New Station Plans
Sunday, July 2nd, 2017

We are very grateful to our community and the founding members of the View Volunteer Fire Department. They saw the need for a fire department in our area and made it happen. These members donated time, land, and their skills to build our current station. Over the years our members have upgraded our personal protective equipment, firefighting equipment and fire trucks.

Fire trucks are made much different than they were in our beginning. Our trucks hold more equipment, water, and are much larger than our old ones. We have outgrown the capacity of our station. We have limited space for storage. We do not have adequate clearance between trucks to walk around or safely dress out for fires and emergencies. Our insulation is falling from the roof. We have gravel floors that make it difficult to service and maintain our equipment when we need to due maintenance underneath the trucks. It also hinders us from keeping the unwanted dirt and debris out of the station.

An upgraded station will improve safety for the firefighters and give us more room for our equipment. The station will be able to house firefighters during severe weather and high fire danger. We will add an office, a maintenance room, and storage rooms. The new station will allow us to have fundraisers and social events at our own facility.

Our primary focus right now is the land. Our second priority will be the actual design of the station to fit our needs as a fire service with potential growth considered. Once these two tasks are completed we will focus on the fundraising and actual building of the new station. We have already set up an account for the building fund and have raised a significant amount.

We attached pictures of our current station.
